Back to work with 3 new sites

  • July 26, 2016

A quick look over my blog section will tell you that I don't often have or make time for writing blog posts, but I did want to give a quick rundown to bring things up to date. My maternity leave has ended as of a few months ago, so I have more time available again to spend creating and working on websites. As a mum of three young children I still don't do this full time, but if you're interested in a small business website and like the idea of using WordPress then I can probably help you out and give you an affordable website with all of the features you need, so don't be afraid to get in touch. I...

Maternity leave

  • March 2, 2015

Being due to have a baby on the 28th of February means that I will be on maternity leave for the next 18 weeks and unable to take on any new clients or work for existing clients during that time. I will update once again when I am able to return to work. Thanks for your understanding!

Merry Christmas!

  • December 19, 2013

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas season full of peace, love and joy as you celebrate with your friends and family. I won't have reliable internet access between Christmas and New Years while we are visiting family, but look forward to hearing from you again in 2014 and creating more beautiful websites together.

Recent projects

  • October 29, 2013

Although things have been quiet on the blog, I have still been busy working on a few different projects over the past few months. The Sunshine Coast Lolly Buffets & Event Styling website is one of these, which includes a beautiful design based on a premium WordPress theme, and some totally mouth-watering photos of their delicious, gorgeous and unique event catering. If you're on or near the Sunshine Coast and planning an event, definitely check out their website for some great ideas. The most recently launched website was for The Water Diverters, which is a local Hervey Bay business designing...

Updated design!

  • August 11, 2013

I've been thinking it was time for a refresh of my website's design and look. This weekend I had some time between client websites, so I thought it would be a good chance to change things up. Thanks to the great quality King-Size Theme and my own knowledge and experience with WordPress, I was able to take a new theme and customise it for my own look and content in about 5 hours. This even includes some time to design a logo! If you're interested in a fast and affordable custom made website, browse around my new site, take a look at some other clients, and get in touch!

New look for Nazarene Church website

  • August 2, 2013

One of the projects I've been working on recently is a new look for the Nazarene Church in Australia website. The first version of the site that I created for them was done back in 2010 and featured quite a lot of stock photos of people who weren't actually connected with the church in any way. Some of the design elements were also looking clunky, as since then I've had a lot more experience in using image manipulation software such as Illustrator and Photoshop (and my good old free standby, Paint.NET). Another catalyst for change was the launch of a new logo for the global Nazarene Church....

NextGen Gallery: Choosing a gallery template when displaying an album

  • July 25, 2013

Apologies for neglecting my blog of late! I've been working on creating and updating several websites and hope to post news of them soon. While working on a new WordPress website for a client, I came across a small problem for which I couldn't find a fix on the internet. Having managed to solve it, I thought I'd post it in case it helps others. My client wants to include a photo gallery as a central feature of her website. As NextGen Gallery is far and away the best WordPress gallery plugin, I installed it and began to configure and customise it for her needs. She requested that there be one Gallery...

New WordPress websites launched

  • May 3, 2013

Although it may look like things have been quiet lately due to the lack of blog posts, actually I have been quite busy working on a number of projects. The latest of these to be finalised and published is The Resistance Church website, which is a WordPress project that you can read more about on their client page. Another new client WordPress site launched recently is for Fencepost Marketing, a new business venture for some existing clients. I'm also in the process of redeveloping the website for NTC (the Nazarene Theological College), so keep an eye out for that project to be completed over the next...

Download Photoshop for free!

  • January 8, 2013

I found this hard to believe also. But it is true and legit - go to the Adobe website right now and you can download Photoshop and Creative Suite 2 (CS2) absolutely free. CS2 is the older version of Photoshop. CS3 is the current and newer version which includes a lot of extras that CS2 does not. Still, CS3 costs a hefty amount and CS2 is free if you get over there right now, so if you have been wanting Photoshop but been kept out of the market by the price tag, now is your chance. Apparently Adobe couldn't be bothered actively supporting valid product activations for CS2 anymore given that it's...

NextGEN Gallery – Restrict gallery access to specific users

  • December 4, 2012

Anyone using WordPress will most likely be aware of the NextGEN Gallery plugin as the most popular and widely used plugin for managing photo and image galleries. I've used it on a number of sites and love the way it is easily installed, managed and customised to provide unique and beautiful ways of displaying photos. The admin interface is also easy to use and allows for really handy features such as uploading photos in a ZIP file, automatic resizing of images to avoid long page load times, automatic thumbnail generation and even watermarking. Recently however, a photographer client asked me if she could...
