New look for Nazarene Church website

  • August 2, 2013

One of the projects I’ve been working on recently is a new look for the Nazarene Church in Australia website.

The first version of the site that I created for them was done back in 2010 and featured quite a lot of stock photos of people who weren’t actually connected with the church in any way. Some of the design elements were also looking clunky, as since then I’ve had a lot more experience in using image manipulation software such as Illustrator and Photoshop (and my good old free standby, Paint.NET).

Another catalyst for change was the launch of a new logo for the global Nazarene Church. I took this new logo and found a good background image to create a header for the website, which stands out clearly at the top of every page thanks to a partly transparent black header background. Under this header I created a new background for the website, which is made up of many small faces of actual members of the Nazarene Church in Australia. Combined with some new fonts to spruce up the look, and updated content to bring everything up to date, I am really pleased with the results and so are the Church leaders and members.
